Choir Society
Introduction
The Shenzhen institute of advanced technology (SIAT) faculty choir is a newly established art society in the college. In the SIAT full of scientific research atmosphere, the faculty, as scientists and artists, combine science and art, as well as work and life perfectly. The faculty choir provides a platform for faculty art lovers to communicate with together about music. The choir leader, Xie Piao, is responsible for the overall work deployment and basic affairs management while the external music instructor Chen Yiting is responsible for daily vocal training and chorus guidance. There are currently more than 50 members in the choir, all of whom are researchers, administrative staff and post-doctoral fellows from various departments in the SIAT. The chorus aims to popularize elegant art, perform multiple styles of music, and spread chorus art to SIAT.
Curriculum
The SIAT faculty choir holds a rehearsal in the A602 conference room every Friday from 18:30 to 20:00, and conducts basic music theory, vocal basic training and chorus work training for choir members. Music instructor Chen Yiting, who has studied with Professor Tan Shuli and Lifetime Professor Zhong Mei of the College of Music of Ball State University in Indiana, USA, won the gold award of the 12th “Hundred Songs of China” singing event in Guangdong Province, 2019, 2020 Longgang District Professional Teachers Group Vocal Competition gold award first place and 2020 Guangdong Province Mass Art Flower Chorus gold award.
